In this episode we will finish up the installation and then reboot into Ubuntu Linux. Having started the install process by double clicking on the install icon on the desktop and going through the various wizard and questions, ultimately once the installation is complete this dialogue box will come up. Now, as you can see, one option is to continue using the live CD which means the installation process will finish and complete but the computer will not reboot. The other option is to go ahead and restart. Clicking the "continue using live CD" option shows how this installation process will finish and bring you back to the desktop of the live CD. Now one thing to notice prior to rebooting into you permanent installation is that this "examples" folder and the "install" icon will both be gone. The "examples" folder will still be on your hard drive. It will just be in a different location rather than being on the desktop, it will be in you home folder and the "install" icon will be gone because the Ubuntu Linux has been installed at that point. The icon and that program are no longer needed. There are also maybe some other minor changes but basically is should be about the same as what you see now. And the other thing is, once the Ubuntu Linux has been permanently installed onto your hard drive then you can start making changes and having them stay. As it stands now with the live CD, of course, if you were say use Firefox and save a web link it would not permanently save. Once the live CD has been shut down and restarted everything is brought back to its original state. With a permanent installation however you can truly start to use Ubuntu Linux on you own and making changes and installing new applications and having fun with it.
