Finally its time to cover the last prerequisite, working with LFTP. LFTP is an FTP
plan which connects automatically to the server of your choice as an anonymous
user. It also supports the same history and command completion you've come to
expect at the bash command line. We'll see how that works on the kernel.org FTP
server. Once connected you can navigate using regular commands we'll change
directories to the pub, clinics, kernel version 2.6 subdirectory. We'll run some
commands on that subdirectory and finally we'll download the change log for
version 2.6.19.1. We use the LFTP command to connect to the FTP server for
kernel.org, we run an LS command to show we've connected successfully. We change
to the directory I indicated earlier, if you hit the tab key twice, you get a
listing of options. Now let's review what's in this particular directory. And
finally let's download the change log. The change log downloads quickly. To exit
from the LFTP client we run the bye command and now we can review the change log.
Wasn't that easy? Thank you and onto the next movie.
