FileMaker Pro 9 Advanced has all the features you find in FileMaker Pro 9. But it has a few extra features that have been enhanced and updated and added as well. So let's go over those feature that have been enhanced, updated and added and give you an idea on how they work. But again we'll be using these features throughout the tutorial and we'll want to use them in depth in later tutorials because then that will give us a chance to see how they work when you're actually developing a solution. I just want to give you an idea on how they work right now. So, let's go onto the next slide and we'll see that the Script Debugger has been enhanced. So first of all, it will authenticate for sufficient privileges. Before it wouldn't ask you for a password or anything. It would just block it out. Now you actually get asked to type in an account and password. And that's very nice. It also has a very small additional feature but actually has a good impact on how the Script Debugger works. Before when you went to the Tools menu and chose Script Debugger it simply put a check to it. Now when you chose it, it actually pulls up a window even if you're not running a script. In fact, you don't even have to have file open if you want to look at it. It will obviously not have any of these options available but you can open it up. So there's this visual feedback with the Script Debugger now, which is really, really a nice addition onto it. And now unfortunately we blocked here a little bit, but let's move it off to the side here. It's also easier to edit scripts by double clicking on them. So when your running a script in Debug Mode and it's listing all the scripts, all the subscripts, everything that's running; you can simple double click on a script and open it up and edit it. And it will actually be on the step that's listed right there that your on at that moment. So it really makes it much easier to edit your scripts from the Script Debugger. You'll also notice that you can select multiple steps for multiple break point assignment. So let's take a look at that. Why don't we open up ScriptMaker and run any old script here. We'll run this one right here, Perform It. You'll see that it has the perform step there. And actually what we want to do is make sure we do have the debugger. You notice how when I close it, it went off. So we need to make sure that's open then go into ScriptMaker and then we're going to want to perform this. And so you can see it appearing there. There are your active scripts. And now what you can do is you can actually select multiple steps using the Shift key or you can go ahead and use the Command key to select "discontiguously" or the Control key if you're on Windows. So you got a lot of options here as far as selecting these. And once their selected you can set breakpoints for all these selected steps. So it makes a several click process into one click; makes it much easier for you to do that. And again, here's that option for double clicking on it. You see this? We just double click on it. In fact, it'll make a better show if we actually come through and walk through a few steps here. So we'll step into it and we'll see that if we double click on it now it's going to go right to Else If. And you can see right there it's highlighted. So it makes it much easier to edit things, very nice little feature. And then if we actually close the box now, it'll actually run the rest of the script. But we actually want to halt it now. This is a better way to do this. And so you can see also that in the Script Debugger, if we pull it up again, that there's also been some interface work done on it. So there are some nice features; nicely designed icons on here that really help you identify the buttons much better. They're also a little bit bigger. I think that's nice too. And then you also have this pause on error. If you have this checked; if ScriptMaker encounters an error when running the script it simply won't just go over it like before, such as let's say, a field is missing. It will actually pause so you can actually go ahead and identify that error much easier. So this little check box is very, very nice in identifying missing fields, missing tables and things like that.
