In the last section we were just looking at the PDF of the exam guide for AutoCAD
2009 for Autodesk Certification. Let's just scroll down a little bit now and
have a look at the information that this exam guide gives us. So what do we need
to do? Well, let's have a look. Let's have a look down on the web page here. You
can recertify your AutoCAD 2008 Certified User Exam if you have taken that. If
you are an AutoCAD 2008 Certified User, you must pass the AutoCAD 2009 Certified
Associate Exam. Those two exams combines earn you the AutoCAD 2009 Certified
Professional. So let's scroll down in the guide. Let's have a look at the
preparation solutions. You've got your Autodesk Official Training courseway,
your AOTC materials. That will be based on your AutoCAD 2009 Essentials course.
Now, you can go, as you can see, to the store at Autodesk.com there to order your
AOTC material. In the UK you can not purchase AOTC material. You will get that
material given to you if you take an ATC instructor-led course which, as you can
see, is the next section down on this particular page. Let's have a look now at
some of the information. Let's have a look at the test-taking strategies: time
management. Make sure that you do all the questions that you can do first. There
is an online test system that allows you to go back and return to them later so
do the questions that you can do first and then go back to the ones that may be
a little bit more difficult. If time permits, you can get back and finish all of
those and then it avoids you getting caught up in one exam question that you may
not be able to answer that well. What sort of format are the questions in? Well,
here's a typical text answer. You open up the drawing here and you then have to
find the room number 82007 and find the features and what is that room name. So
you have to put it in this box here and as you can see, the room appears as data
space RM full stop. It's got a period, as the American call it, at the end of
the name. So it must go in the box as data space RM dot full stop or period as
well. You must put the exact information in; otherwise you will not get the
question correct. If you have to enter a numeric answer, you calculate the value
and put it again in the box. If it is displayed three decimal places as shown,
you must put it in with the three decimal places. Let's have a look now. This is
the Certified Associate Exam Sections and Objectives. This is your Associate Exam.
So let's scroll down the list there. Let's have a look now at the Professional Exam.
This is the one that you will be taking. So as you can see there it tells you the
section, the number of questions, the exam objectives and even the chapter from
the AOTC material. So it is worth buying that AOTC material or taking a course
to obtain that AOTC material. So there's lots of information here in the PDF
file that you can download from the Autodesk website. I've included that PDF
with your Work Files for this AutoCAD 2009 Certified Professional tutorial.
